Teams are classified by their offensive and
defensive prowess, runs scored, runs against, USSSA Power Rating, by who
they played and beat
* With all of the changes to the Georgia
program this winter and all the corrections that needed to be made, no
committee was name so that decisions could be made as fair as possible and
as quickly as possible. Committees may be named at a later date.
+ (Plus) system explained. At the time
Georgia came up with the plus system there were only two states classifying
teams correctly, Georgia and Washington. This resulted in teams from these
states not being competitive when they traveled. The plus system was created
for two reasons, make the state more fair and competitive and to make
Georgia teams more competitive while traveling. The question we get most
often is "How does this make us more competitive if we are D+ and play D
outside of the state?" the answer is if we went back to the old way to
classify a team, that D+ team would NOT be D, they would be C. This
basically drops your team in class while traveling.
