FAQ
Give the director a call well before the tournament
and find out when the deadline to enter is. If you are new to tournament
softball, mention that when you call and ask what is required of
new teams.
Why do I have to pay a registration fee?
Your registration pays for the administration
costs for getting your team set up to play and receive USSSA
Points.
If there was a protest in the first game, how would we be able
to prove anything? Besides the insurance company requires it. (kinda
makes you wonder if "others" that don't ask for them before the
first game are insured, right?). For the organized manager, we
also have rosters and other documents in our managers toolbox to
help you.
Many reasons! some rules are in place try to keep the game
moving along better and some are there so the team have a little
more freedom to try new players out or experiment with positions.
Because it is too difficult to verify if teams or players are
classified correctly. It is not fair to our regular teams if a
team comes to Georgia and beats the "fudge" out of everyone and we
don't know if they are legal.
Again, so many reasons but basically because of the HUGE
amount of bad checks written and the hassle to collect. Georgia
USSSA has checks that can't be collected totaling nearly six
figures, granted this is over several years but that is still too
big of a number.
