   Rules   

 1)     All Teams MUST be Georgia U.S.S.S.A. and National U.S.S.S.A. LEGAL at all times.
2)      Georgia U.S.S.S.A. sanctioned and classified teams only in the Super 8 Series Finals.
3)      Teams must legally play in (7) Super 8 Series Tournaments, in each class they try to qualify in, to be considered as legal for the Super 8 Series Finals.     Exception see rules #22 & 23
4)      Teams MUST play in (6) Super 8 Series single points tournaments, before they can receive double or triple points. The Double Points Tournaments start on Saturday May 26th.
5)      Teams must play in the triple points tournament (July 28-29) AND at least (6) other Super 8 Series Qualifying events (For a total of (7). No exceptions.
6)      No frozen rosters until May 26th, 2007.
7)      Only first place teams roster frozen if there are (17) teams pay and play. This includes EQUALIZERS
8)      If a team has a frozen roster and has used all legal pickups. Team may release(1) player & pickup (1)
9)      Teams may play up in class with the Super 8 Series Directors permission. Players “CAN NOT” play up or down in class this year. Any player protested for playing up in class will be frozen in the higher class. Any player protested for playing down in class will be suspended and the offending team will be ejected from tournament and/or moved up in class or both.  Players “CAN” play with any team in their own class that does “not” have a frozen roster.
12)  Teams that move themselves up must start over with zero points and zero tournaments played. Teams can not move themselves up after May 25th.  
A.     Teams that are allowed to move down by the State Director after March 1st or the Classification Board start over with zero points and zero tournaments played and they also have a frozen roster and can not pick up any players without written approval of the State Director or the Classification Board. No team can move down for the Super 8 Series Finals under any circumstances.
B.     Teams moved up by the State Director or the BOARD get ˝ their points, but must still play in (6) Super 8 Series single points Tournaments in the higher class before they can receive double or triple points in their 7th Super 8 Series Tournament, or qualify for the Super 8 Series Finals.
C.     Teams moved down in class for any reason after March 1st, carry zero points down, and zero tournaments played down. Team must play (6) Super 8 Series single points Tournaments in lower (every) class they try to qualify for the Super 8 Series Finals in before they can receive double or triple points in (7th)  Super 8 Series Tournament  or qualify for finals
D.     Example: Team plays (5) Super 8’s in (D). The team moves up to (D+), (or is moved up). Team will have full points in (D) and ˝ total points in (D+). Team must play (7) Super 8 events in (D+) to get double or triple points and/or qualify for finals.  
13)  Teams may play in a higher class Super 8 to get more points or because of a higher class player/s. Example 1.With permission from the Super 8 Series Director “before” the bracket is drawn  a (D+) team plays as a (C) team in a (C+) (C) tournament by (C+)(C) rules to get more points or because of
      having a higher class player/s or  (C+) (C) tournament has more teams. Points are credited in class (D+).  (D+) team remains a (D+) team even if the team wins tournament Example 2. With permission from the Super 8 Series Director “before” the bracket is drawn a (D) team plays (D+) or (C) team plays (C+) or (B). Same results as example #1
 
14)  Teams ejected from a Super 8 Tournament for any reason get zero points for that tournament.
13) In the Super 8 Series any team moved up because of a:
A.     protest carries zero points up
B.     higher class player carries zero points up
C.     illegal or ineligible player carries zero points up  
14) The team in each class that wins 1st place in the Super 8 Series Triple Points Tournament will automatically qualify for the Super 8 Series Finals as the number (8) seeded team, provided they have played a total of (7) Super 8 Series Tournaments in the class that the team wins the Super 8 Series Triple Points Tournament in, and provided they don’t qualify by points. Should any Triple Points Tournament 1st place winner qualify by points they assume the position they qualified for in points.
15) Entrance fee for all Super 8 Series Tournaments is $225.00 cash. Except the Super 8 Series Finals which is FREE to all qualifying teams. 
D.     Teams can not buy their way into the Super 8 Series Finals.
E.      Teams can not be invited into the Super 8 Series Finals. EXCEPTION see rules #22 & 23
16) All Super 8 Series tournaments any team that no shows, or drops out after taking a game time, (for any reason), must pay the full amount. The team also loses all Super 8 Series Points and number of tournaments played and all players listed on their roster are not eligible to play in any Super 8 Series tournament in any class with any team until the full $225.00 is paid.
17) Qualification for the Super 8 Series Finals shall be by a Point System or win 1st place in the Super 8 Series Triple Points Tournament. Teams may acquire points as follows: Points shall be awarded as follows (1) point (in reverse) for each/every team that pays and plays in a Super 8 Series Tournament, including EQUALIZERS.  Example (14) teams pay and play. 1st (14points) 2nd (13points) 3rd (12points)… EXCEPTION: see rules #22 & 23.    
18) The 2007 Super 8 Series Finals will consist of (4) men’s classes, those classes and the amount of travel expense money that will be paid to the 1st place team in each of those classes in the Super 8 Series Finals are as follows.
F.     Men’s (C+) (C)=$1500.00 travel expense to be paid at the USSSA North Ga. State Tournament
G.     Men’s (D+)=$2000.00 travel expense to be paid at the USSSA. North Ga. State Tournament
H.     Men’s (D)  =$1500.00 travel expense to be paid at the USSSA. North Ga. State Tournament
I.        Men’s (E)  =$2000.00  travel expense to be paid at the USSSA North Ga. State Tournament
 
Teams winning the Super 8 Series Finals Travel Expense MUST play in the USSSA. North Ga. State Tournament to receive the Travel Expense. No Shows or Forfeits in the USSSA North Ga. State Series lose the Travel Expense. In case a team loses the Travel Expense it goes to the next legal team in line, playing at the USSSA. North Ga. State Tournament.
19) All Super 8 Series managers/coaches and players must have I.D., acceptable to the Tournament Director or the Super 8 Series Director, from the 1st pitch of the tournament until the Super 8 Series Tournament is over or as stated in the 2007 Official U.S.S.S.A. Rules. Player, No (I. D.) = Team is ejected from tournament
J.       U.S.S.S.A. Slow Pitch National By-Laws, Article III, Section 18
K.    U.S.S.S.A. Rule 4, Section 11-A5
20) All managers/coaches/players and teams, upon taking a game time hereby agree to all of the U.S.S.S.A. Constitution, By-Laws, Rules, Regulations, Super 8 Series Rules, City, County, State and Federal Rules and Regulations. The Super 8 Series Director will have full authority to make any and all decisions concerning any matters, rules, or regulations involving the Super 8 Series  Tournaments, including the Super 8 Series Finals. The Super 8 Series Director is Rusty Carter, his decision shall be final.
21) The Tournament Director (can/will/may) play an Equalizer in Super 8 Series tournaments with less that (8) teams in each/every class if he/she chooses.
 
22) The Super 8 Series Finals will be played in all (4) classes if there are (4) or more teams in each class that have met the Super 8 Series minimum requirements. Exception: Series Director may move teams to a HIGHER class. Example: (D+) team plays in (8) Super 8’s.  Finishes 9th in (D+) points. If there are not (8) teams in the (C+)(C)) Finals the Series Director may allow the (D+) team/s to play in the (C+)(C) finals as a (C) team. In moving up into the (C+)(C)) tournament the (D+) team/s would only fill spots not filled by (C+)(C) teams. The (D+) team/s points would start where the (C+)(C) teams points ended, until the tournament reaches (8) teams. Example:(5) (C+)(C) teams legally qualify for the Super 8 Series finals, spots #(6)(7)&(8) could be filled by legal (D+) teams that have met minimum requirements in their class. The Series Director may go down the legal (D+) team’s points until he fills the spots.                    
23) If there is not a minimum of (4) teams in a Super 8 Series Finals Class the Series Director may cancel that class, with no refunds, no awards, and no travel expense of any kind, to any team). Under no circumstances will any team or teams be allowed to move down, even with other teams consent.   
24) For the purpose of roster checks and/or protest a player shall be considered in the game if his name is turned in on a roster, line up card, score card, if he is on field between the foul lines, in on deck circle, in the game or has played in the protested game and by book rules also.    
25) If a Super 8 Series team with a frozen roster (and out of pickups) can not field a legal team, then the team may unfreeze their roster and start over. Explanation: Team gives up all Super 8 Series Points and Super 8 Series Tournaments played. Starts over with zero points and zero tournaments played.   
26) Al Bishop Complex will only allow the U.S.S.S.A. “ELITE” Softball to be used in their Complex in all U.S.S.S.A. Adult Slow Pitch Sanctioned Tournaments. The “ELITE” ball is the only legal ball (In all of Rusty’s U.S.S.S.A. Tournaments including the Super 8 Series Tournaments).
27) The Super 8 Series will not legally allow any team, coach, manager, player, sponsor, team member, team personnel, team representative, sporting goods manufacturer, representative, business or any person, company or association to pass out, give away, deliver, advertise, solicit, sell, post, test, raffle, loan, or demonstrate anything, at any facility that a Super 8 Series tournament is going to or is being played at without written permission from U.S.S.S.A. National Headquarters, Ga. U.S.S.S.A., the Super 8 Series Director and the County, City, Park/Complex, and Facility Owners
28) It is the pitchers responsibility to check for illegal or not legal softballs. If the pitcher pitches it, it counts. (U.S.S.S.A. National Headquarters/National Umpire in Chief’s interpretation, As of January 1, 2005) If the pitcher finds a ball that is not legal he/she should notify the umpires who in turn should notify the U.S.S.S.A. Tournament Director immediately and a warning shall be issued to the offending team. The second time the pitcher finds that an illegal ball has been thrown into the game by the same offending team the batter scheduled to bat shall be called out. The third time the pitcher finds an illegal ball has been thrown into the game by the same offending team the batter is called out and the batter and manager are ejected from the game. If the umpire finds a pitcher  putting an illegal ball into the game for the  purpose of getting the offensive teams batter called out and or ejected from the game the umpire shall notify the tournament director who shall have authority to eject the pitcher from the tournament and possibly have the state director suspend the pitcher from U.S.S.S.A.                  
 29) Teams can not combine Super 8 Series Points or number of Tournaments played with another team name after a tournament has started.                                                                                          
30) No alcoholic beverages allowed on any Facility property hosting a Super 8 Series tournament.
31) Teams can not enter into (2) Super 8 Series Tournaments at the same park, even in different divisions. Team cannot enter twice in the Triple Points Tournament under any circumstances.
 
32) The Super 8 Series Tournament Director may change the tournament format at any time after the first pitch of the tournament for any reason he or she feels is necessary. Format changes may include one pitch, one pitch (5) innings or coin flip.                                                                        
33) Once the Super 8 Series Finals Bracket has been set, any team that does not confirm or backs out of the Super 8 Series Finals, the next legal team in points that has not qualified for the finals, assumes the team that dropped out, seed number.                                         
34) All pickups and releases must signed by the team manager, dated and faxed to 678-407-0614 and they must be posted on the internet web site to be counted as legal. Any team that goes over the limit in pickups or releases can/will be declared illegal. Super 8 Series frozen rosters will be posted on Rusty’s web site.
35) Players first and last name must be printed on roster. If only one name is put on roster, that player is illegal. It shall be the Teams responsibility to make sure all names listed on the Teams roster/s first name and last name are easy to read. Any name not easy to read by Super 8 Series Tournament Director is illegal. If the manager’s name is on the Teams player roster he is counted as a player. If a manager’s name is not on the Teams player roster he can not play.                                         
36) In the case of a tie in points between any of the (8) teams in the Super 8 Series Finals for seed number, the tie will broken as follows. (1).The team that has played the most Super 8 Series Tournaments in the class which has the tie. (2). Most Ga. USSSA tournaments played since December 1, 2006 (3).Coin Flip.       
37) In case of a tie in points between teams whether they would qualify for the finals or not, the tie will be broken as follows. (1). Most Super 8 Tournaments played in the class which has the tie.(2). Most Ga. USSSA tournaments played since December 1, 2006 (3).Coin Flip              
38) Bad language will not be tolerated. GD-word, F-word, MF-word, SOB-word, N-word, Ba-word,
      Bi-word, BS-word, S-word, ALL= EJECTION WITHOUT WARNING 
 39) The Super 8 Series Finals will be played at the Al Bishop Complex in Marietta, Ga. on
       Friday-Saturday-Sunday August 3-4-5, 2007
40) If a team wins a Super 8 Series Tournament including the Triple Points Tournament undefeated
     the team will receive bonus Points.
41) If a team win the Super 8 Series Finals and is moved up for the next year by the State Director/Board, and the team appeals to go down in class the following year that team can only win ˝  the Super 8 Series Finals travel expense. The other ˝ goes to the next legal team in line in that class.
